Friends established in 1957
The Friends of the Bosler Library, established in 1957, work to promote advocation of the library and its resources, and to provide library funding.
Friends of the Bosler Library is a 501C3 organization. The Friends Board meets the third Monday of each month at 7PM to discuss and plan the various activities and projects of the Friends.
The general membership does not have regularly scheduled meetings but may participate in the many on-going projects sponsored by the Friends.
Bosler Library Group Formed
"The organization is to be known as the library association or the friends of the library. The name will be selected at the next meeting in September when officers will be elected and a constitution and by-laws adopted."
Glenn E. Todd, president of the board of directors of the library, said "the purpose of the group is to encourage the growth and development of the library and to aid in finding ways and means for financial support. It was asserted that there would be no membership dues and that all interested persons would be cordially welcomed.”

2018 Friends Distinguished Service Award
Barbara Bui, Bookery Manager, is the 2018 recipient of the Friends of Bosler Distinguished Service Award for her dedication to and support of Friends of Bosler Library. She has served as a dedicated volunteer to the Bookery followed by 3 years as its Bookery Manager. Barbara has also been a member of the Board of Directors, serving on numerous committees over the years. We are proud to present this award to Barbara Bui and are thankful for her leadership, dedication, ingenuity, and commitment to the Friends. She has given of her time generously in her successful efforts to make us a better organization, Bookery, and Friend.

Janice Thompson is our first recipient of the Friends of Bosler Distinguished Service Award for her dedication to and support of Friends of Bosler Library. Janice was co-founder of the Bookery (started in 1997). She served many years as the Bookery Manager and has been a member of the Board of Directors. An Emeritus Friend, Janice has remained involved with the Friends and its activities and has been a great resource to the Bookery as a researcher of unique donations. We are proud to present this award to Janice Thompson whose generosity, enthusiasm, and spirit continues to benefit the Friends, the Bosler Library, and our community.

A book will be donated to the library in each of their names in a category of their choice. Hope Miller served as a president & vice president of the board and Claudia served as treasurer and hospitality chair. Thank you to Hope & Claudia!
The Friends enjoy participating in local community events when possible.
The Ice Festival is a particularly fun event as it draws many people to the downtown Carlisle area.
We are pleased to support this local event and especially love "our" ice sculpture. What could be more appropriate than a book!
